When the Islands Fall Quiet

A Little Moonlight. A Lot of Magic.

There’s something magical about the Caribbean after dark, and depending on the moon, the view can be completely different from one night to the next. When the moon is full, it’s absolutely breathtaking. Moonlight spills across the sea, creating a shimmering silver pathway over the water. The islands become silhouettes against the night sky, and I could sit on our balcony for hours just taking it all in.

But I love the nights without much moonlight, too. When the sea is dark and the stars are shining overhead, my imagination starts wandering. I think about the pirates who once sailed these waters, the explorers navigating between islands, and what it must have been like centuries ago, looking out into that same darkness and finding their way by the stars.

There’s something incredible about sitting here, knowing these waters have witnessed countless adventures. Whether it’s a brilliant full moon or a peaceful, star-filled night, the view has its own kind of magic.

Beach Days in St. Thomas & St. John.

There’s nothing quite like a beach day in St. Thomas or St. John. Pack a cooler, grab your beach chairs, and head out to discover a new stretch of soft sand and that unbelievably blue Caribbean water.

Swim until you’re ready for a break, snorkel among colorful fish, take a long walk along the shore, or just settle in with a good book and let the hours slip by. Some days call for an adventure; others are made for doing absolutely nothing at all.

One of my favorite things is that every beach has its own personality. You can spend your whole trip finding new favorites—and still leave with more on your list for next time.

Meet Lisa and Alex

Our Story

We're from Minnesota, where I call winter the tundra! We've traveled to so many beautiful places, and I'm usually not one to visit the same destination twice. There's just too much of the world I want to see!

But then we discovered St. Thomas in 2018.

I'll never forget stepping off the back of that plane, feeling the warm Caribbean air, and immediately knowing we'd found somewhere special. The turquoise water, winding roads, breathtaking views, beautiful beaches, wonderful people, and warm trade winds completely captured my heart.

I actually cried when we had to leave! As soon as we got home, I booked our next trip. So much for never visiting the same place twice!

The following year, we started looking at properties. The first one we loved sold before we could make an offer, which turned out to be a blessing in disguise.

The following June, we found our perfect slice of paradise. We were so taken by the pictures and those incredible views that we made an offer without even seeing it in person! We flew down days later, and it was more beautiful than we'd imagined.

I still love every little thing about being there. Waking up to spectacular sunrises, enjoying coffee on the balcony, feeling the trade winds, exploring beaches, discovering restaurants and coffee shops, and watching moonlight shimmer across the sea. And yes, even the iguanas!

After all these years, I'm still never ready to leave. St. Thomas has become a part of my soul.

If we could live there full-time, we would! Until then, sharing our little piece of paradise with others brings me so much happiness. I love helping guests discover our favorite places and experience the island we love.

I hope you'll understand why the girl who rarely visited the same place twice keeps returning to St. Thomas.

Why We Fell in Love With This Little Piece of Paradise

From the moment we discovered this property, we were completely captivated by the breathtaking views. The endless turquoise waters, lush green islands, and incredible sense of peace and privacy made us fall in love. We knew we had found somewhere truly special.

One of our favorite things about this location is that you can step outside and enjoy a beautiful walk through the neighborhood, taking in spectacular ocean views and admiring the gorgeous island homes along the way. With the winding roads and hills, it's also a wonderful way to get a great workout while surrounded by some of the most incredible scenery imaginable!

And while our little slice of paradise feels wonderfully peaceful and tucked away, we're centrally located and just minutes from so many of the things that make St. Thomas extraordinary.

World-renowned Magens Bay, with its gorgeous white sand and turquoise waters, is only about eight minutes away. Within five minutes, you can enjoy a wonderful cup of coffee at Northside Grind or indulge in an unforgettable fine-dining experience at Old Stone Farmhouse, a beautifully historic restaurant set on a former sugar plantation.

It's that rare combination of breathtaking beauty, peaceful privacy, and an incredible location that made us fall in love with this property—and we can't wait for you to experience it for yourself.

We have stayed at so many vacation rentals over the years, and we've brought that experience into making our own place feel like home. You'll find incredibly soft, cozy bed linens, plush pillows, comfortable furnishings, a kitchen stocked for cooking, plenty of beach towels, and a detailed guidebook to help you plan your adventures.

One of the things we love most about sharing A Slice of Paradise is helping our guests experience the very best of St. Thomas. Over the years, we've spent countless hours exploring the island, discovering beautiful places, trying incredible restaurants, visiting coffee shops, and seeking out experiences that make St. Thomas so unforgettable.

I love sharing those discoveries with our guests! Rather than simply handing you a list of popular attractions, I personally put together recommendations for restaurants, coffee shops, and island experiences based on places we've explored and enjoyed ourselves. I want you to experience everything that makes this island so extraordinary.

And perhaps most importantly, we're always just a message away.
